Composition;
Each gram contains; Tylosin tartrate 100mg and Doxycycline hyclate 200mg.
Description.
Tylosin is a macrolide antibiotic with bacteriostatic activity mainly against gram-positive as well as some gram – negative bacteria.
Doxycycline is a tetracycline antibiotic with the bacteriostatic activity against gram-positive and gram negative bacteria, including mycoplasma spp, rickettsia spp. And chlamydia spp. When combined, tylosin and doxycycline act synergistically.
INDICATIONS.
For the treatment of bacterial infections an calves , swine and poultry caused by microorganisms susceptible to tylosin and doxycycline, paticulary gastrointestinal and respiratory infections.
DOSAGE AND ADMINISTRATION.
For oral administration in drinking water or feed.
Calves; 500g per 400 calves of 50kg body weight per day for 3-5days;
Swine; 100g per 200- 400 litres of water per day for 3-5 days.
Poultry; 100g per 200- 400 litres of water per day for 3-5 days.
Medicated water or feed should be used immediately and refreshed every 24 hours for the duration of the treatment.
CONTRADICTIONS.
Hypersensitivity to macrolides or tetracyclines, severe hepatic or renal impairment, active microbial digestion.
PRECAUTIONS AND WARNINGS.
It is recommended that the susceptibility of the causative microorganisms is established before treatment is commenced.
Severely sick animals have altered drinking patterns and may need to be medicated parenterally. Dosage may need to be adjusted to reflect herd or flock water consumption.
